NDIS

Tinkers Farm provides capacity building supports for NDIS participants through practical activities in a calm farm environment. Sessions focus on developing skills that support independence, confidence, communication and participation in everyday life. Supports can be delivered one-on-one or in small groups and are tailored to each participant’s NDIS goals.

What Sessions Involve

Activities take place on the farm and may include working with horses, farm animals, gardening, and craft or practical projects.

These activities support skill development in areas such as:

• Emotional regulation and confidence
• Communication and social skills
• Executive functioning and organisation
• Problem solving and practical life skills
• Building routines and responsibility
• Community participation and teamwork

No prior experience with animals is required.

Farm-based supports may suit children, teenagers and adults who:

• Learn best through hands-on activities
• Benefit from outdoor or nature-based environments
• Find traditional therapy settings challenging
• Want to build confidence and everyday life skills

Sessions are delivered at Tinkers Farm in Moorleah, North-West Tasmania.
